Call for applications: Postdoctoral Research Fellowship HIV-exposed uninfected child health outcomes – deadline 22nd June 2018
The Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Research (CIDER) at the University of Cape Town School of Public Health, in partnership with the Collaborative Initiative for Paediatric HIV Education and Research (CIPHER) is pleased to announce a call for applications for a 15-month Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. The candidate selected for this fellowship will conduct research, including a systematic review of the literature on HIV-exposed uninfected (HEU) child health outcomes, with supervision and mentoring by Dr. Mary-Ann Davies and the CIPHER HEU project team including Dr Kate Powis and previous CIPHER post-doctoral scholar, Dr Amy Slogrove.
The awardee of the CIPHER HIV-Exposed Uninfected Fellowship will be announced at the 4th HIV-Exposed Uninfected Child and Adolescent Workshop to be held on 22 July 2018 as an official pre-conference of the 22nd International AIDS Conference, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The selected candidate will be based at CIDER for the fellowship, but professional development activities include a 2-month training period with the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a one month training period at the Botswana – Harvard School of Public Health AIDS Partnership Initiative. We welcome applications from residents of low- or middle-income countries (LMIC) with a demonstrated commitment to working in a LMIC after the fellowship period.
